At RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, we have successfully achieved the concrete performance targets set for the development of sustainable materials for offshore renewable energy applications.
The developed mix reached >90 MPa compressive strength at 7 days and, at 28 days, achieved compressive strength above 120 MPa together with splitting tensile strength exceeding 9 MPa, and achieved SF2 self-compacting performance.
Even more importantly, these results were achieved while placing sustainability and circularity at the centre of the material design, helping to reduce the environmental footprint of future offshore energy infrastructure.
A special thanks to the RISE Research Institutes of Sweden team behind this achievement: Ilias Outras, Miguel P., Erik Åsheden and Stephanie Nunes.
Looking forward to the next stage of development and validation in real marine environments at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden marine site at Kristineberg and at Plataforma Oceánica de Canarias (PLOCAN) 🌍⚡
